Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026. This policy explains what Short Stop Electrical LLC collects on learn.shortstopelectrical.com, why, and how it is kept.

What we collect

• Account details: legal name, email address, mobile number, password (stored only as a hash), Washington certificate number and certificate type.
• Identity documents: a photo of your government-issued photo ID and of your Washington journeyman/administrator certificate card, uploaded when you create your account.
• Course records: orientation acknowledgement, module progress, engaged reading time, every quiz and exam attempt (questions drawn, answers, scores, timestamps), completion certifications, and certificates issued.
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive the purchase record (item, amount, date, Stripe transaction identifiers). We never see or store your full card number.
• Technical data: sign-in events, SMS verification codes (short-lived), and standard server logs (IP address, browser type) kept for security.

Why we collect it

• To deliver the classes and issue certificates.
• To verify your identity, which Washington L&I requires for internet continuing education (WAC 296-46B-970), and to keep sponsor records of enrollments and completions.
• To report your completion to L&I through TERRS: name, Washington certificate number, class number, and completion date.
• To detect and act on academic-integrity violations.
• To send course emails (verification codes, certificates, instructor replies).

Who we share it with

Washington L&I (completion rosters and, if required, incident reports); our service providers who process data for us — Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Twilio (SMS codes), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and Vercel (hosting). We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.

SMS messages

We send SMS only for sign-in verification codes to the mobile number you provide. Message frequency depends on how often you sign in. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out (you will then need to contact us to sign in) or HELP for help.

How long we keep it

L&I requires sponsors to keep records of enrollments and completions. We keep course records, completion data, and identity documents for at least the duration of the related class approval plus the renewal cycle it supports (currently a minimum of six years), then delete or anonymize them. You may ask us to delete your account at any time; records we are required to keep for L&I are retained for that period.

Security

Identity documents are stored in a private bucket accessible only to Short Stop Electrical administrators through short-lived signed links. Passwords are hashed. Access to the Platform requires SMS multi-factor authentication. Quiz and exam answers are never sent to your browser.

Your choices

You can view and update your name, mobile number, and certificate number on your Profile page. To access, correct, or delete other data, or to withdraw consent, email contact@shortstopelectric.com.
